Can the Cloud RO filter out hormone or endocrine disruptors?
I was concerned about hormones leaking through to my pure water, as I had hormone-positive breast cancer and I certainly don’t need that in my water supply. I reached out to the Cloud RO creators, and they said,
“Reverse Osmosis is the best way to remove Estrogen and other endocrine disruptors/hormones. The typical molecular size of endocrine disruptors is 0.9 to 1.2 nanometers (nm). In comparison and RO membrane has a pore size of 0.1 nanometers. So, an RO membrane has a pore size that is 10x smaller than the smallest hormone molecules. This is typically a good way to judge the effectiveness of reverse osmosis removal. If the molecule size is larger than 0.1 nanometers than it will be removed in the 90-100% range.”
