Hi, I’m Meg aka Bored Mom<\/strong>. First let me say, I\u2019m not actually bored. I\u2019m a busy Californian Mom with many balls in the air at any given time. I work as web developer, property manager and I have a teen, so yeah – there’s that. Despite being incredibly busy, I do often find myself bored with routine. I despise the same ol’ same ol’ and find that life is so much more FUN to color outside the lines and learn what\u2019s out there (good or bad).<\/p>\n

I also have an entirely different life going on inside my noggin’. In my DREAM state, I live in a beautiful light and bright two-story restored ranch home on a 1,000-acre lavender farm. I only eat beautiful, healthy, organic food. I have a huge fancy stove and I can have something magnificent on every burner at any given moment. I dress comfortably, yet stylishly, and always have interesting artisan fair-trade jewelry on. \u00a0My teen has neat hair and rides her beautiful horse around my organic fruit orchard.<\/p>\n

However, in reality, I\u2019m like most women. Right this very minute, I am probably wearing yoga pants that have seen better days and I\u2019m fairly certain that\u2019s either toothpaste or mustard at the bottom of my shirt. Damn. My hair is almost always in a ponytail because I just don\u2019t have the time for a blow-out, nor the internal motivation. I don’t even have time to fix my roots!\u00a0 I work hard and I expect those around me to also work hard. There is always the lava flow of laundry, errands to run and bills to pay. To unwind, I watch cooking shows, travel shows and have an ongoing sick fascination with the \u2018Real Housewives\u2019. \u00a0When the Housewives loudly complain about not having someone to bring them an ice cold Perrier, I YELL at them through the T.V. Geez, who do they think they are!? Then… I secretly agree that it WOULD be nice to have someone bring me a cold Perrier too. With fresh lime.<\/p>\n

My real life and dream life often collide and combust into bursts of interesting projects, food and boondoggles. Therefore, this site is really a time-stamp of things that have brought fun and uniqueness into my life, and I hope that my hits and misses add something to your lives.<\/p>\n

I’m a huge plant-based diet cheerleader (actually, I’ve been tapping my foot for 20 years on the sidelines waiting for y’all to catch up) and am SO EXCITED to see that vegetarian diets are now HERE TO STAY! The industry has grown, new creative products are coming out at fever pitch, and eating for the our health (and the health of our planet) is now easier than ever.<\/p>\n

And on that note, you can be as healthy as you can, and crap just happens. I was diagnosed with breast cancer the summer of 2019 and am now on the other side – hopefully. I’ll continue to lead a healthy lifestyle, but know in the back of my head that our planets is getting more polluted by the day and 70% of cancers are from environmental causes.<\/p>\n

Also, to be clear<\/strong>\u00a0this site is not just for Moms<\/strong>. It’s for foodies, people who love to entertain, travel, pet lovers, crafty arty types and others who also hate routine.<\/p>\n
