Do you have a giant textile factory and need to replace your wooden bobbin spools? No, neither do I. However, I was attracted to these beautiful vintage wooden spools because they reminded me of a time when clothing was actually made on our continent by Amish people. Now the bobbins used to make clothing leave that foreigny after-taste. But not these historical little buggers! They taste like 100% American Beef (although I don\u2019t recommend actually tasting these).<\/p>\n

So, what do you do with these? You can play the drums for starters. Or, all the hipsters on your block will think you\u2019re pretty cool when you stir your fancy thyme infused cocktails with them  (again, watch out for that strong wooden USA taste though). <\/p>\n

\n\t*I* thought that these provide a nice way to display random ribbons bits that were haphazardly thrown into a bag at my house. Displayed in jars or baskets, I can now easily find ribbon and I come off as an organized Martha Stewart wannabe. In fact, when visiting friends, I see that they have ribbon just laying there all sad in a box and I softly mention, \u201cOh, I see you have no bobbins. How very sad.\u201d<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\tThe ends where the bobbins fit into the textile loom are slightly red in color. So, these bobbins were madly serving up red yarn at one point in their lives. Bobbins were often made of hard or exotic woods and have become highly sought after by collectors.<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\tDon\u2019t have any use for them? The term “bobbins” appears in northern English slang, meaning “rubbish”, i.e. something worthless or incorrect.  So, if you can\u2019t use these in decor, or to bind extra ribbon, you could give them to an in-law that you don\u2019t like as a \u2018hidden message\u2019 gift that says, \u201cHey, I gave you rubbish.\u201d. You\u2019re welcome.<\/div>\n
