As we were going to Florida for the holidays, it was a perfect time to take advantage of the unseasonably hot weather and get the Ocea Creations Mermaid Tail<\/a> for my daughter. She has wanted one for several years now, so she was so excited to finally get one! She is 13 and we ordered the Teen Medium. The length was a good fit, and a little loose around the waist so she can grow into it more this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The package arrived quickly via Amazon Prime and was wrapped up well with a ribbon and a bonus paint pen for my daughter to personalize her tail. The green tail pattern was very pretty  and the black monofin slides in easily though the bottom of the tail opening (with zipper). <\/span><\/p>\n

We didn’t see instructions on how to put the fin straps on her feet. It said to slide them in, but her feet were not fitting in like that so we used the back straps to go around the heel of her feet. She said it felt more secure that way, so we went with that. <\/span><\/p>\n

We initially went to the beach for her to swim with all the sealife (heh heh), but after about 10 minutes she said she wanted to get comfortable with how the tail action worked in a pool instead as the waves were a little challenging. In the pool, my daughter practiced for HOURS. She would swim with it for about an hour and then took a break and ate like a growing teen, and then back in again. Actually after eating 2 orderes of fish tacos, two orders of sweet potato fries and an order of fried pickles, the tail fit just perfectly around her waiste. So, yes…any growing teen should get one with a little extra room. \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n
