It&#8217;s no wonder veteran and new companies alike are looking to cash in on the trend. What these products share is a desire to appeal to non-vegans and non-vegetarians through\u00a0uncannily meat-like textures and\u00a0flavors\u2014and sales show that they&#8217;re succeeding. Here are four products to watch.<\/p>\n<h2>Lightlife Burger &#8211; BoredMom Pick<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15896\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Lightlife-Burger.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"371\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Lightlife-Burger.png 500w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Lightlife-Burger-300x223.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lightlife Foods revealed its\u00a0new plant-based burger in January 2019. Notably, the product\u00a0has a shorter ingredient list than both the Beyond Burger and the Impossible Burger\u00a0and is also <strong>free from soy, gluten, cholesterol\u00a0and GMOs; ingredients include pea protein, coconut oil and beet powder.<\/strong> Lightlife has reportedly set the highest marketing budget\u00a0for the product than any prior rollout in the company&#8217;s entire history. Lightlife&#8217;s\u00a0alternative burger hit store shelves late in March\u00a0and was joined by the brand&#8217;s Plant-Based Bratwurst, Plant-Based Italian Sausage\u00a0and Plant-Based Grounds products.<\/p>\n<h2>The Vegetarian Butcher\u00a0mc2\u00a0NoBeef Burger<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15897\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/TheVegetarianButcherMC2NoBeefBurger.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/TheVegetarianButcherMC2NoBeefBurger.jpg 290w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/TheVegetarianButcherMC2NoBeefBurger-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 290px) 100vw, 290px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Unilever acquired The Vegetarian Butcher late last year, meaning the cult favorite Dutch brand is about to get a lot more accessible and popular\u00a0among plant-based shoppers. The Vegetarian Butcher was created\u00a0by former cattle farmer Jaap Korteweg\u00a0and the line includes all sorts of meat alternatives, from tuna to chicken nuggets to sausage rolls.\u00a0The brand&#8217;s vegetarian mc2\u00a0NoBeef Burger is constructed from\u00a0soy and wheat protein and was rated the highest of all vegetarian burgers tested by The Dutch Consumers Association.<\/p>\n<h2>Tofurky DIY Burger<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15898\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Tofurky-DIY-burger.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"633\" height=\"406\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Tofurky-DIY-burger.png 633w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Tofurky-DIY-burger-300x192.png 300w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Tofurky-DIY-burger-500x321.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 633px) 100vw, 633px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tofurky, a longtime player in the alt-meat game, gives people the ability to choose their plant-based burger&#8217;s shape and size with its DIY Burger, a product reminiscent of regular ground beef. The DIY Burger is sugar-free and contains beet juice, pea protein, coconut oil and organic soy flour\u2014one could argue it was the first imitation meat product from a major brand to follow in the trailblazing footsteps of Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods. Tofurky has been steadily releasing new products in the alternative protein space since then, including vegan deli slices and sausages.<\/p>\n<h2>Nestl\u00e9\u2019s Garden Gourmet Incredible Burger<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15899\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Nestle-Garden-Gourmet.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"770\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Nestle-Garden-Gourmet.png 770w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Nestle-Garden-Gourmet-300x156.png 300w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Nestle-Garden-Gourmet-768x399.png 768w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Nestle-Garden-Gourmet-500x260.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Swiss company announced plans for\u00a0a meat-free burger patty in December 2018 under its Garden Gourmet brand. The burger is\u00a0comprised of wheat and soy protein and, similar to both Beyond Meat and the Impossible Burger, &#8220;bleeds&#8221; like the real thing. The move was not unprecedented: the company had\u00a0bought\u00a0a majority stake in plant-based food maker Terrafertil\u00a0and acquired the Sweet Earth Natural Foods brand\u00a0earlier in 2018; all things considered,\u00a0Nestl\u00e9&#8217;s plant-based businesses may reach over $1 billion\u00a0within the next decade.
