Paired with a sweet and spicy pepper jelly or lemony tartar sauce, they are one of my most favorite appetizers. They are also one of the most expensive! I&#8217;ve paid skyhigh prices for tiny little cakes where although delicious, I felt like the dining experience was over before I could really enjoy them. Note to self: don&#8217;t inhale tasty food. Restaurants will also often add a lot of filler, so you don&#8217;t get much crab bang for your buck. Here&#8217;s an easy crab cake recipe you can make at home and for about the price of ONE restaurant appetizer &#8211; and you will have enough to feed 6 people! <!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><strong>You Will Need<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>16 oz tub of crab meat (sorted and picked) &#8211; try to source from US, or as local as possible.<\/li>\n<li>1 cup of corn bread mix<\/li>\n<li>2 diced green onions<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 finely diced red pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon of Old Bay or any spicy Cajun Blend spice (I used a blend I bought in Louisiana)<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup mayonaise (I used vegan mayo)<\/li>\n<li>2 eggs<\/li>\n<li>salt (I didn&#8217;t add salt as my spice blend was mostly salt, but if your spice blend doesn&#8217;t have salt add 1-2tsp of salt)<\/li>\n<li>olive oil or vegetable oil to grease the baking pan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to Prepare<\/h2>\n<p>Turn oven to 375 degrees.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19163\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/one-bowl-crab-recipe-hero.png\" alt=\"one bowl crab cake recipe\" width=\"810\" height=\"450\" data-kale-share-title=\"Baked Crab Cakes\" data-kale-share-url=\"https:\/\/www.boredmom.com\/?p=19140\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/one-bowl-crab-recipe-hero.png 810w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/one-bowl-crab-recipe-hero-300x166.png 300w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/one-bowl-crab-recipe-hero-1024x568.png 1024w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/one-bowl-crab-recipe-hero-768x426.png 768w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/one-bowl-crab-recipe-hero-500x277.png 500w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/one-bowl-crab-recipe-hero-1800x1000.png 1800w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/one-bowl-crab-recipe-hero-1536x853.png 1536w, https:\/\/stage.boredmom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/one-bowl-crab-recipe-hero-2048x1137.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In a large mixing bowl add all of the ingredients and mix well. Crab chunks should be broken up and well-incorporated into the mix.<\/p>\n<p>On a greased baking pan, take about 1-1\/2 to 2 tablespoons of mixture and form a little ball. Flatten it slightly with your spoon.
